Project Description
In Practice. Wall Panel
A1-scale gothic lettering composition executed in Luneville embroidery.
The work is constructed from monograms developed as part of my teaching practice and used as a core task in both my offline training and online course. Every element is made using the same techniques I teach, without additional methods or variation.
The piece demonstrates how tambour embroidery can move beyond small-scale samples into fully realised compositions.
It functions as a reference work and is currently displayed in my Pimlico studio.

In Practice
This composition is based on a series of monograms developed for teaching Luneville embroidery.
The letters are used as a primary task in offline training and as a follow-up task in the online course. They were designed as an alternative to standard floral exercises, focusing on lettering as a more personal and individual form.
The composition brings these monograms together at A1 scale. All elements are executed using the same technique taught in the course. No additional methods are introduced.
The work is not positioned as an exhibition piece. It functions as a reference: a full-scale example of how a single letter can be extended into a larger composition.
The piece is currently displayed in the studio in Pimlico.

Luneville Embroidery
Executed entirely in Luneville (tambour) embroidery.
The work is built using a single technique throughout, without combining methods.

Introduction to Luneville Embroidery Course
My teaching is available in two formats: a self-paced online course and an individual two-day workshop in my London studio. This allows students to choose between independent learning and focused in-person training.
Monograms
The composition is based on original monograms developed for students.
The designs focus on lettering as a personal format. Each letter is drawn specifically for this purpose and is not taken from existing alphabets.
Individual monograms are also available as finished works.

In Practice
A gothic lettering composition executed in Luneville embroidery at 60 × 90 cm.
Built from monograms developed for teaching, the work brings together letters originally encountered as separate tasks into a single composition. The phrase In Practice refers to the nature of learning itself: Luneville embroidery is not learned through the purchase of expensive or fashionable tools and materials or through watching videos, but through patience and practice.
Conceived as a reference board rather than primarily as an exhibition work, the piece shows the execution of individual letters and the scale that can be achieved using the same methods taught in the course.
