This event was part of the ongoing ‘Handcrafted by the World’ exhibition, a global festive gift market running from 21st November to 20th December 2024, showcasing handcrafted works by artisans from around the world.

Pearl Embroidery Demonstration

During the event, I shared the intricate pearl setting technique with visitors, using hand-embroidered samples and a specially created pattern to illustrate both traditional craftsmanship and modern applications.

I also brought my embroidered jacket, created as part of my MA Textiles, for the demonstration. This jacket, along with my Tropical Garden series and Hummingbirds Spreading Wings, is currently on display at SoShiro Gallery. These works highlight how pearl embroidery can transform art and design, blending heritage techniques with contemporary aesthetics.
