Contemporary goldwork, modern vayz lettering, luneville embroiedry

My hand-embroidered textile artwork, Transparency and Justice, will be exhibited at the 62nd Annual Woodlawn Needlework Show from March 1–31, 2025, at Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House in Alexandria, Virginia, USA.

This exhibition is one of the most respected celebrates fine embroidery, textile art, and contemporary needlework. I’m honored to have Transparency and Justice featured among this year’s selected works.

About the Artwork

Created in 2023, Transparency and Justice is a contemporary embroidery piece exploring themes of integrity and responsibility in leadership. The design features vyaz, a decorative Cyrillic calligraphy style, embroidered using goldwork-inspired techniques—though instead of metal threads, carefully selected fibers create a gradient effect. The background is meticulously worked in Luneville embroidery, adding texture and depth to the composition.

Measuring 30 x 42 cm, this textile artwork blends historical craftsmanship with modern symbolism, reflecting on the role of transparency in leadership.
