Sewing Academy Pimlico opened on 11 May 2026 at 43 Moreton Street, London.

The space started with a simple plan: a basement workshop for sewing and embroidery classes. Within a few days, it became something larger — a two-room studio with a ground-floor space, a large street-facing window, and a basement workshop area.

We called it Sewing Academy, but it is definitely much more.

The studio is intended as a dynamic space for sewing, embroidery, embellishment, leather work, talks, demonstrations, and changing displays of work. It brings together practical teaching, creative exchange, and direct access to specialist textile and embroidery practice in central London.

I will be using the space for my Lunéville embroidery tuition, embroidery and embellishment workshops, talks, demonstrations, and studio visits. I have already welcomed a group of art and craft enthusiasts from the US for a talk and demonstration about my practice, including examples of my embroidery, textile works, and specialist techniques.

The studio will also host sewing and pattern-cutting classes by Altbes, alongside other creative workshops and events as the programme develops.

For me, this new space is important not only as a teaching venue, but also as a place where people can see my work in person. Photographs and videos are useful, but they cannot fully show the level of detail, material quality, and surface work involved in hand embroidery and textile embellishment.

Visitors, students, fellow artists, curators, and anyone interested in embroidery, sewing, embellishment, and textile practice are welcome to get in touch to arrange a visit.
