Cosplay at the highest level isn’t just about sewing a costume together — it’s about creating a piece that convinces both up close and on stage. The detail has to hold up under bright lights, long days of wear, and the scrutiny of judges and photographers.

That’s where I come in. I’m Ksenia, a textile artist and designer who specialises in turning reference images into real, wearable detail. My background is in couture embroidery and surface design, but my commissions go beyond stitching — I work with fabric manipulation, beading, and aging techniques to achieve finishes that look authentic, durable, and competition-ready.

Whether you’re building armour, a gown, or a cloak, I create the elements that are hardest to fake: embroidery that matches screen references, accessories that look true to character, and surfaces that feel lived-in rather than fresh from the fabric store.

Embroidery is one of the hardest elements to master in cosplay

For serious cosplayers, skipping embroidery often means the difference between a strong costume and a winning costume.

Most costume makers don’t take on embroidery

because it’s slow, technical, and requires specialist skill

Embroidery and surface detail

that can be adapted from almost any reference — whether it’s film, anime, or historical art.

Textile manipulation and aging

techniques to make fabrics look lived-in, battle-worn, or historically authentic.

Durable finishing

so your costume can handle stage performance, photoshoots, and even outdoor events where conditions aren’t always ideal.

A professional approach

— clear communication, design drafts for approval, and progress updates during the build.
What I bring to a costume

When you commission work from me, you don’t need to know the names of techniques or materials.

Most cosplayers come with a reference image, screenshots, or a mood board — and that’s enough. I translate those visuals into real, wearable embroidery and surface design.

This isn’t hobby craft. It’s costume work built to competition standards, with the durability to survive conventions, travel, and long days of wear.

Each project is tailored, but commissions often include:

Costume panels

embroidered details for cloaks, gowns, corsets

Armour embellishment

embroidered appliqués for leather, fabric, or hybrid builds

Accessories

crowns, necklaces, brooches, hairpieces designed for character accuracy

Most commissions take 4–6 weeks depending on scale. For major events like EuroCosplay or Dragon Con, booking several months in advance is strongly advised.

Why trust me with one of the most visible parts of your costume?

  • I’ve trained and worked as a textile artist and designer, with commissions shown in exhibitions across the UK and Europe.
  • My background in couture embroidery and surface design means I work at a level far beyond hobbyist craft.
  • I understand what cosplay demands: detail that looks convincing up close, survives long days at conventions, and meets the scrutiny of competition judges.

Instead of rolling the dice on an Etsy or trying to rush embroidery yourself, you can rely on a professional who treats your costume as seriously as you do.
