Ksenia Semirova will run a small group textile jewellery workshop in London on Saturday, 30 May at 43 Moreton Street, Pimlico.
The workshop focuses on creating a finished multi-strand textile bracelet using beads, cotton cords, and hand-stitching. The design is inspired by medieval textile jewellery and pearl-setting technique, a historical embroidery method.
In this workshop, the historical reference is not treated as costume reconstruction. Instead, participants will look at how the idea behind medieval textile jewellery can be adapted into a contemporary wearable accessory. The bracelet made during the session can be worn with summer dresses, linen, denim, or holiday outfits, while still carrying a clear connection to textile history and hand embroidery.
Each participant will choose from a selection of materials provided on the day and complete their own bracelet during the workshop. No previous embroidery or jewellery-making experience is required, so the session is suitable for complete beginners as well as people with an interest in textiles, embroidery, handmade accessories, or historical craft techniques.
The workshop is part of Ksenia’s teaching programme at 43 Moreton Street, where she offers group sessions and private embroidery tuition. Her teaching focuses on practical hand skills, finished outcomes, and the connection between traditional techniques and contemporary textile practice.
